Jamshedpur: Mass Communication Department of Karim City Launches ‘SCAN’ E-Newsletter

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: As part of the Department of Mass Communication’s Silver Jubilee celebration year, Karim City College, Jamshedpur launched an online SCAN electronic newsletter on Saturday. The main guest was Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, Principal of Karim City College. Dr. Neha Tiwari, Head of Department, Mass Communication, welcomed everyone and spoke about the significance of January 29 in the history of Indian journalism.

Dr. Reyaz launched the e-newsletter and he congratulated the whole team and the department for this initiative.

The goal of SCAN is to provide a better platform for students to implement theoretical knowledge into practical application. Undoubtedly, it will open new doors for students to start and inculcate behavioral changes to improve society by making them independent. The initiative was taken by BA Mass Communication Video Production Semester I students under the mentorship of the Mass Communication Department.

Dr. Rashmi Kumari, Professor, DMC talked about SCAN, Bapi Murmu, Professor, DMC explained the importance of Adobe InDesign software. Students from the editorial and design team shared their experiences, including Sahil Asthana, Taniya Parkar, Chunaram Mandi, Ravindra Nath Murmu, Joyanto Baskey, Subrata Mandi and Sadaf Najni. The event ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Nida Zakaria, Professor, DMC. About 75 participants including Prof. Fakhruddin Ahmad, Dr. Safiullah Ansari, Dr. M.Nazri, Sajid Perwaiz and Shahzeb attended the launch ceremony.

The virtual event ended successfully with the note that the department will celebrate its silver jubilee with many innovative initiatives.
