LOS ANGELES, Calif./ACCESSWIRE/June 14, 2022/ As previously announced, Mynaric (NASDAQ: MYNA)(FRA:M0Y) has been selected by Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) to deliver CONDOR Mk3 optical communications terminals under a flagship US government program. Northrop Grumman has been selected by the Space Development Agency (SDA) to supply 42 satellites to the Tranche 1 Transport Layer program that will meet the critical needs of the US National Defense Space Architecture (NDSA). The $36 million deal, which was announced on March 21, 2022, makes Mynaric the sole provider of optical communications terminals for Northrop Grumman under the program and expects product deliveries primarily in 2023 and 2024. Against this backdrop, Northrop Grumman today announced a successful demonstration of a secure networked laser communication system for proliferating LEO constellations using Mynaric’s optical communication terminals.

The agreement marks the largest optical communications terminal order placed specifically with Mynaric and announced to the general government market to date, confirming the industry’s trajectory to acquire and deploy industrialized laser communications systems at scale in rapid growth. Mynaric has focused on developing products and manufacturing capabilities that enable the deployment of large-scale optical communication terminals since its inception and has invested heavily in scalable manufacturing and market-leading products over the past few years.
