Which Philadelphia Eagles WR will end up making the final roster?
For the Philadelphia Eagles, the wide receiver position is (and always has been) an interesting topic of discussion. In the back-to-back draft, the team picked a wide receiver in the first round, but the problem is just as prevalent as ever.
Jeremy Maclin remains the last wide receiver for the Eagles to post a 1,000-yard receiving season. He accomplished this feat in 2014 when catching assists with Mark Sanchez as quarterback. It’s been so long for Eagles fans.
Still, there is hope this year will be different. Head coach Nick Sirianni has worked with receivers and even led the position for the Chargers in 2017. DeVonta Smith comes out of an incredible Heisman Trophy winning season and Jalen reagor improved with Jalen Hurts under center in 2020.
The Eagles chose to carry seven huge wide receivers last year and five the year before. Philadelphia doesn’t have enough talent in this position to keep seven guys, so they’ll probably keep five or six.
It only remains to find out who these five or six receivers will be. The first three, however, seem to be locks to make the list.
