Safety and health fair 2022
Safety and Health Expo is one of the largest gatherings of practitioners on the planet and as such we take our responsibility to organize the best possible content very seriously.
Over 100 speakers will take the stage and around 6,000 visitors are expected to listen to the lectures.
Safety & Health Expo will take place May 17-19, 2022 at ExCeL London and applications for speakers are now open.
We know how much content is valued within the profession and it is our privilege to host some of the most informative and educational sessions available. As such, we thought it would be a good idea to share some great tips with those who would be the speakers for our next event next May.
A good place to start is probably the topic. Think about its niche, the number of people it will attract, and the topicality of the topic you are discussing. Some things never get old, but the goal here is also to always move the profession forward so that new ways of working and case studies on strategies that make a real difference are always interesting.
What will the session look like?
The next consideration is who delivers. Things to consider here include the number of people (group discussions tend to attract a larger audience than solo speakers), who is speaking to the audience (practitioners often like to hear from their peers, someone who walk in their place) and if the public wants they are sold to.
Keep it informative and editorial-focused
This last point is especially important – no one wants to sit still in front of a sales pitch disguised as an education. Showcasing innovation is always very important, but there is a fine line between that and someone who just feels like they are being pushed towards a product or service.
Diversity and inclusion
Finally, the Safety and Health Expo team is committed to designating as diverse a range of stakeholders as possible. Whether it’s age, gender, race, or any other form of equality, we want to make sure we embrace it and show it off with who gets on the podium.
All that’s left to say is that we look forward to giving you and your peers the opportunity to share your experiences and opinions for the first time in three years. It’s been a tough, forced break and that feeling of seeing hundreds of eyes on someone making their point is something I know we all look forward to.
