The Center has supported the national vaccination campaign by providing free Covid vaccines to states and UTs, in addition to several efforts to increase its production and supply, the ministry said.
Implementation of the liberalized and accelerated phase 3 COVID-19 vaccination strategy began from May 1, whereby the government opened vaccination for all over 18s.
As part of the strategy, each month, 50% of the total vaccine doses authorized by the Central Medicines Laboratory (CDL) from any manufacturer would be purchased by the Center. It would continue to make these doses available to state governments free of charge, as was done in the past. – PTI
