NIMASA acts to improve communication in the workplace

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Security Agency has launched a Joint Staff Advisory Forum to strengthen the relationship between its management and its workforce.

NIMASA Managing Director Dr Bashir Jamoh opened the 18-member forum in Lagos, according to a statement obtained by our correspondent on Sunday.

He said during the exercise that communication between management and staff is essential in moving the marine industry forward.

Jamoh, represented by Director of Administration and Human Resources, Ms Ronke Thomas, acknowledged recent accomplishments in the agency’s core mandates while saying they were driven by workforce motivation. artwork.

He said, “Management is not about us or them. Effective management is the ability to get the most out of the workforce and we have stood for it ever since we took charge of this agency.

“We want to give more voice to staff, which will be another important milestone in the history of this agency. ”

Emphasizing the importance of the consultative forum, the CEO said that as someone who has risen through the ranks and spent more than three decades in the industry, he is aware of the aspirations of the staff. He said he would prioritize anything that develops maritime in Nigeria.
