Welcome, OnMSFT readers, to OnPodcast Episode 34. In our last episode this week, we took a look at the latest Windows Insider Bash bug. We also talked about Build 2021, Xbox, lawsuits, and more.
Our show started off with the big news of the week – the return of the Window Insider Bug Bash. Things then changed and we talked about a few sessions for Build 2021. Then we took a big turn and continued to talk about 20 years of Xbox. Kareem then ended our main segment with a look at some of the stuff Epic Games vs.Apple when it comes to Microsoft.
As is the case here on OnPodcast, we also had both the quick recap segment as well as the upcoming week segment. In Quick Recap, we’ve covered some Microsoft topics for the week. In the coming week, we’ve looked at 31 years of Solitaire, more news from JEDI, as well as some updates from Teams.
Our show started off with something that hasn’t happened for a while – a Windows Insider Bash bug. Arif and Kareem went through some of the quests in this Bug Bash and what you could do to get an awesome new badge on your Insider profile. The two even speculated if it meant bigger things to come for the program.
With Build 2021 only a few weeks away, our second topic in the series was on some of the interesting conference sessions. Arif and Kareem looked at some of the emerging topics that could arise from Build, related to Microsoft Teams, Azure, Power Platform, Microsoft Edge, and Windows. They also explained how you can register yourself.
The third topic of our show is one that touches Xbox fans. In November, it will be 20 years since Microsoft unveiled the first Xbox console. We’ve walked through the festivities Microsoft has planned right now and how you can get involved. We also talked about our own favorite Xbox moments.
Our last big topic in the series was Epic Games vs Apple. While Apple was at the center of this court case, there were some interesting things about Xbox that came out of the story as well. Kareem recapped that, looking at Microsoft’s GamePass and what can be considered a gaming console.
In our Fast Recap segment this week, we looked at some topics that were too small for dedicated segments. This included new Teams meeting experiences, more ways to earn Microsoft Rewards points, a console purchase pilot program for Xbox Insiders, and more.
The show ended with a preview of some topics that we think will emerge for The Week Ahead. This includes Microsoft Solitaire which turns 31 this month. We also took another look at Microsoft possibly losing its $ 10 billion JEDU contract. Things then ended with a look at Microsoft Teams and how it will let you create group chats with external users this month.
